DHEA is short for dehydroepiandrosterone. DHEA is a naturally
occurring pro-hormone, a base building block for hormones. Human
males and females produce more and more DHEA until about age 25, and
then levels decline at a rate of about 2% per year thereafter.
Hormones are chemical messengers between cells. The word “hormone”
