It took Martina Hingis 60 minutes to crush her French opponent Mathilde Johansson 6-0, 6-3 to advance to the second round of the U.S. Open on Tuesday.

Hingis, a five-time Grand Slam winner, played nearly errorless tennis, committing just eight throughout the match while Johansson recorded 23 unforced errors.

The former world number one is trying to capture her sixth Grand Slam of her career while marking the tenth anniversary of her 1997 U.S. Open victory. Hingis beat Venus Williams in Flushing Meadows to capture her third Grand Slam win.
